bet365 confirms to Global Gaming Insider markets will be launched in other leagues soon

In the UK, operator bet365 is now offering odds on players to be fouled in Premier League football matches.

A popular choice for stats-based bet builders, 'fouls won' markets had already been on offer for some time with other UK brands - such as Flutter Entertainment-owned Sky Bet and Paddy Power.

By comparison, this was uncharted territory for bet365, although the sportsbook has regularly provided odds for player tackles and players to commit fouls.

That changed last week, however, when the operator introduced a 'player to be fouled' market for the Nottingham Forest vs FC Porto Europa League match (which saw Forest win 2-0).

This was then tested out over the weekend across Premier League matches - and bet365 has now confirmed its permanent introduction in the division.

Speaking to Global Gaming Insider, the operator also confirmed it will expand the offering to other elite leagues 'in the very near future.'

Given the increased popularity of player-based bet builders, with shots on target generating as much interest as goalscorer markets for some of today's bettors, 'player to be fouled' markets are a significant addition.

Arguably, bet365 was lagging behind its competitors without them - not normally what one would associate with the industry giant.

Other common promotional offers, such as 'super sub' and 'early payout,' are quite the reverse. Indeed, Paddy Power and bet365 respectively were the early movers here, while brands such as Sky Bet, Betfair and Boyle Sports have only recently introduced them.

Good to know

Bruno Guimaraes won by far the most fouls in the Premier League last season, being fouled 107 times. His nearest competitor was Newcastle United teammate Anthony Gordon, on 71
