Hollywood Casino Columbus, currently operated by Penn Entertainment, will host a grand opening celebration for its new hotel tower on June 12, including an outdoor festival and concert for attendees.
The 203-room hotel tower was said to represent a “major expansion” for Hollywood Casino Columbus, providing 183 standard rooms, 20 suites and approximately 100 new jobs for the local Columbus community.
Penn Entertainment President and CEO Jay Snowden spoke on the upcoming launch, having said, “We’re thrilled to officially announce the opening date for our new hotel at Columbus, which positions us to be the top entertainment destination in the region.
"This opening will mark our third retail development project to be completed in under a year, building on the momentum from our new casino in Joliet and second hotel tower at the M Resort."
The operator will host job fairs in Columbus for all hotel staff positions on March 27 and April 10, while the new hotel tower is also set to feature a full-service bar and restaurant upon opening.
Along with Hollywood Casino Columbus’ new hotel tower, the property will debut an expanded high limit table games room during the second half of 2026, although both developments are still subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Penn Entertainment also anticipates launching its new Hollywood Casino Aurora in Illinois by late Q2 2026, as well as a new land-based property in Council Bluffs, Iowa by late 2027 or early 2028.
Hollywood Casino Columbus generated the most revenue of any Ohio gaming establishment during January 2026 with $21.9m, but the figure still equates to a decrease of 1.3% year-over-year.
