155.io, the studio behind Rush Hour, has launched another CCTV-based title named Snow Run.
Snow Run will use live-action winter sports footage from GoPros, drones, slope-side cameras and CCTV feeds to create live feeds for players to wager on.
Players will wager on how many skiers pass through a designated zone in a limited period of time.
Similar to other games in the CCTV Game™ portfolio, Snow Run will run 24/7 and will offer Under, Over, Range, and Exact markets with multipliers up to 18x.
CCTV betting is a new and growing genre, founded by 155, which raises some hypothetical integrity questions. Global Gaming Insider explored these issues after seeing the rise in popularity of the betting category.
Sam Jones, 155.io Founder & CEO, however, answered our questions on the topic last week.
Snow Run will launch as a timed exclusive with Roobet, before rolling out to additional global operators after seven days.
Jones, said: “Snow Run shifts our simple, engaging mechanic to a totally new environment – real mountain slopes captured from multiple angles.
“The reaction on socials from streamers has been mind-blowing and shows authenticity is king.
“Launching with Roobet gives us the perfect start out of the gate, and we’re confident it will carry real momentum with players ahead of a wider rollout.”
This marks the second people-focused CCTV title released by 155, with others including Duck River, which follows rubber ducks floating down an aquatic obstacle course.
CCTV-based games have garnered plenty of attention recently, especially on platforms that encourage viewers to connect with products through streamers.
The genre is seeing marked popularity within the crypto betting sector.
Although the other CCTV games focus on publicly available cameras, Snow Run is based on first-person perspectives achievable through the GoPro footage
