Hacksaw Ventures, part of Hacksaw Gaming, has entered into an agreement to invest in Jinx Gaming.

Hacksaw launched its Ventures arm to identify and invest in early-stage companies that aligned with the company’s vision.

As per the agreement, Hacksaw Ventures will become a minority stakeholder in the studio, with the option to increase its stake over time.

Jinx Gaming is a current partner studio on the OpenRGS platform, which is a remote gaming server platform that allows studios to create games on the frontend framework, while Hacksaw handles the backend functionality, mathematical configuration, and compliance requirements for both platform and games.

Fran Mifsud, Hacksaw Ventures VP, said: “Jinx Gaming has demonstrated a clear vision and strong creative direction since joining the platform and we are thrilled to welcome them as part of Hacksaw Ventures.

“The investment provides Jinx with further resources to develop innovative and exciting games. We’re excited to begin the next stage of our journey together.”

So far, Jinx Games has launched Dead Headz, an FPS-style casino game that sees the player taking on a horde of zombies in an almost Doom-like setting; while Jumpasaurs seems to be inspired by retro platformers.

Reu Wilde, Jinx Gaming Founder, said: “Out of the gate, we’ve given players leading first-person-shooter and platformer experiences on the market, and now we have the might of Hacksaw behind us.

“Through our deepened partnership with Hacksaw, we will continue to rewrite the expectations of what a slot game is.”

Other studios on the OpenRGS platform include Kitsune Studios and Foxhound Games, which have released 80s and anime-themed slots, respectively
