Maryland Lottery and Gaming has reported the state’s sports wagering activity for March 2026, including a $604.7m handle produced by bettors, representing an increase of 2.8%.
The total handle included $595.2m from online activity and nearly $9.5m in retail wagers, equating to an increase of 3.8%, but a fall of 37.5% for in-person betting.
During the monthly period, Maryland bettors managed to take home close to $542m in prizes, resulting in a 10.4% hold for operators after generating $62.7m in total revenue. Following required tax contributions, operators reported a taxable win of $44.2m.
The figure equates to an increase of 50% year-over-year and includes $43.5m from online wagers and an additional $687,568 from retail activity.

Sports betting operators currently licensed in Maryland contributed $8.8m to the state’s Blueprint and General Funds during March 2026, which help support public education programs and problem gambling treatment.
On April 6, Maryland Lottery and Gaming also reported the state’s total casino revenue for March, as gaming establishments combined to generate $168.1m during the monthly period, equating to a decrease of 2.3%.
MGM National Harbor was the only Maryland gaming establishment to witness an increase in revenue from the prior year period, rising 2.4% for a total of $72.1m to lead all properties. Live! Casino & Hotel generated the second highest revenue of any Maryland property with just over $60m, but fell 5.9%.
Slot machine revenue in Maryland decreased 3.5% for a total of $117.6m, while total table game revenue came out to $50.5m, representing an increase of 0.5%.
