Merkur has appointed Dubravka Burda as SVP Global Studios, according to a public post published on LinkedIn.
The executive confirmed that her time at IGT had ended and that she had started a new role with Merkur. The announcement did not include further details on the scope of the position or the reporting structure attached to it.
Burda referred to time spent across Reno, Moncton and Belgrade during her tenure with IGT, pointing to a career path that included work across multiple international studio and operational locations.
In her statement, Burda said: “My time at IGT has come to an end.”
She added: “I am excited to start a new journey with Merkur.”
The appointment places Burda in a senior studio role at Merkur as the group continues to develop its gaming and technology operations across regulated markets.
Merkur is active across land-based gaming, casino systems and content, with operations spanning gaming machines, casino management technology and venue portfolios in several European jurisdictions.
The addition of a SVP Global Studios role indicates continued focus on content oversight and studio management within that structure.
IGT, where Burda previously worked, remains one of the sector’s largest suppliers across lotteries, gaming machines and digital content. Her move to Merkur therefore represents a senior personnel change involving two established gambling suppliers.
No formal corporate press release accompanied the LinkedIn announcement in the source material provided. Merkur had also not disclosed any further commercial or strategic context around the appointment in the materials reviewed.
For Merkur, the hire comes at a time when the group has continued to invest in both operational systems and product infrastructure, particularly in Germany.
While the announcement itself focused on Burda’s career move, it also signals another senior leadership addition as suppliers continue to compete on content development, systems integration and market expansion.
Earlier this year, Merkur expanded a separate part of its casino operations in Germany through a technology rollout at its Lower Saxony venues.
Burda’s post referenced Reno, Moncton and Belgrade as locations that shaped her time at IGT and marked them as places that would “always hold a special place” in her career
