The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has released the latest wagering statistics from the month of March in the state’s gambling market.
In what is one of the busiest periods in US sports and sports betting due to March Madness, Pennsylvania’s sports betting revenue figure settled at $47.8m, up by a notable 77% in comparison to sports betting GGR from March last year. Intriguingly, this stark upswing in sports betting revenue came despite a handle of $730.9m – 13.3% lower than last year’s recorded handle of $842.9m.
Elsewhere, the online vertical of iGaming also experienced a positive upswing during the month, rising by 12.2% year-over-year to reach $201.4m. Video gaming terminals (VGTs) churned out $3.8m in March GGR, up 4.1% in comparison to results from the year prior.
However, many verticals elsewhere across the land-based sector were subject to revenue declines compared to 2025. Despite recording the highest revenue figure of any segment, retail slot revenue fell by 2.8% year-over-year to $216.2m during March, followed by retail tables revenue – which fell by 3.8% to $78.7m.
In the online vertical, iGaming tables revenue also fell by 9% to $51.1m, with iGaming poker revenue dropping 13.1% to $2.2m. Finally, fantasy content revenues also fell by 9.7% to $1.07m. Regardless of these juxtaposed results, the state’s overall GGR figure remained on a positive upswing – largely thanks to a strong sports betting performance – rising by 4.85% year-over-year.
Observing results by casino operators in Pennsylvania, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Racecourse achieved the highest revenue figure of $116.3m, up 8.5% compared to March 2025, with Bally’s Pennsylvania experiencing the highest revenue rise of 26.3%, bringing its revenue up to $4.9m.
This latest revenue figure released by the PGCB represents the state’s highest of the year so far and is 9.1% higher than GGR recorded during February 2026. Indeed, November 2025 saw the state achieve what remains its monthly gaming revenue record, reporting a GGR of $623.1m.
Full year 2025 saw Pennsylvania record an all-time high gaming revenue with $6.8bn
