Genius Sports has signed an exclusive multi-year technology and AI partnership with the Swiss Football League, the governing body for Switzerland’s Brack Super League and dieci Challenge League.
The agreement will begin from the 2026/27 season, when Genius Sports’ GeniusIQ platform is scheduled to be deployed in every first-tier stadium.
According to the supplier, the system will create a single layer for tracking data and commercial activation across the league.
The Swiss Football League said the rollout will give its clubs access to positional tracking data alongside event data and video feeds. It added that coaches and analysts will also be able to use Genius Sports’ Performance Studio for match preparation and analysis.
The supplier said the agreement follows its innovation partnership with European Leagues, which represents 18 member leagues and 46 professional competitions across Europe.
Swiss Football League CEO, Claudius Schäfer, said: “By providing our clubs with positional tracking data alongside event data and video feeds, we are enabling them to analyse the game in greater depth and support their sporting decision-making.”
Genius Sports Chief Partnerships Officer, Steven Burton, said: “We’re delighted to partner with the Swiss Football League, executing on the vision set out with the European Leagues, and delivering tracking and performance solutions across their competitions.”
Genius Sports said the technology could also support future use cases, including augmented broadcasts, semi-automated offside technology and sponsor activation tools.
The partnership adds another European league agreement for Genius Sports as it continues to expand the use of its data and AI systems across football competitions.
For the Swiss Football League, the deal centres on data collection, analysis tools and infrastructure that can be used by clubs and league stakeholders from the start of next season.
In past coverage, Genius Sports expanded its agreement with Sweden’s Svensk Elitfotboll to add low-latency video rights for Allsvenskan and Superettan matches, allowing official streams to be integrated into its BetVision platform for licensed sportsbooks worldwide.
