The Macau Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government has launched a new tour bus route that integrates six integrated resorts into major stops along the journey.

Two themed routes are currently under trial, the “Time Machine Tour” and the “Weekend Fun Tour”.

These will pass through the North District, San Kiu District, Sha Lei Tau Market, Hong Kong Night Market, A-Ma District and Nwa Wan Lakeside, giving visitors the chance to experience some of the biggest food and leisure attractions in these regions.

A specific route will also be launched for the Hong Kong Temple Square that will take into consideration local traffic strain.

The integrated resorts involved with the scheme include Galaxy Macau, MGM Cotai, Wynn Palace, Grand Lisboa Palace, Studio City and The Londoner Macao.

During the trial operation, one tour bus is expected to operate every hour on each route, with exclusive drop-off and pick-up points created for visitors.

A dedicated website has also been created for the service, which provides bus timetables, stops, maps, local attractions and over 300 featured merchants along the routes.

A spokesperson for the SAR Government said: “The SAR Government hopes that through the Vacation Bus, more tourists will be attracted to the community, deeply experience Macau's diverse tourism characteristics, jointly revitalize the community economy, further promote the deep integration of local leisure tourism and community economy, and at the same time open up visitor sources and business opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises in the community, so as to promote the moderate diversification of Macau's economy.”
