Mohegan has appointed Scott Schuman as its new VP of Corporate Finance, where is set to lead key functions such as financial planning & analysis, capital markets, treasury, investor relations and strategic planning.

“Scott steps into this role at a pivotal time for Mohegan,” Mohegan CFO Ari Glazer said. 

“He will immediately elevate the way we support stakeholders, sharpen strategic analysis and ensure clear communication of our financial performance and outlook. His experience driving financial rigor in complex, high-growth environments make him an exceptional addition to our leadership team.”

Schuman most recently served as VP & Head of Financial Planning and Analysis for Imax Corporation, where he oversaw financial planning, strategic budgeting and management reporting for the company’s global content and theater business. 

He has also worked in senior financial positions for NBCUniversal and Samsung Electronics America, gaining experience in global entertainment, media and consumer technology. 

Mohegan will represent Schuman’s first entrance into gaming, as well as his first-ever introduction to Tribal operations. 

On April 9, Mohegan appointed Joe Soper as the operator’s new VP of Sports & Entertainment, where he was tasked with overseeing all strategy and programming for Mohegan Sun’s entertainment portfolio.

Soper previously served as Corresponding Secretary for the Mohegan Tribal Council since 2019, where he oversaw all correspondence issued by the Council and communicated information directly to Tribal members.

He first began working with the Tribe after joining Mohegan Sun as a Senior Financial Analyst and eventually earned the Director of Sports & Entertainment title.

In his new role, he is also looked upon to play a “key role” in strengthening high-impact industry partnerships, including work with organizations such as Live Nation, CAA and World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Mohegan agreed to sell the Connecticut Sun to the Fertitta family in a deal valued at $300m on March 30, with the WNBA franchise set to relocate from Connecticut to Houston after the 2026 season
