SEGG Media has said Sports.com Predict, its prediction market affiliate, is expected to go live before the 2026 FIFA World Cup, as the supplier and digital media group looks to build a transaction-based revenue stream around sports fan engagement.
The platform was unveiled last week and is being developed under Sports.com, SEGG Media’s sports division. A holding page is now live for users to register interest before launch.
SEGG Media said the product will allow football fans to engage with tournament moments through predictions, with revenue expected to come from commission-based transaction activity.
The timing places the launch around the first 48-team FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
The tournament will feature 104 matches across 16 host cities, creating a larger event window than previous editions.
Prediction-based products have become a more prominent part of the sports betting and fan engagement market, though their regulatory position varies by jurisdiction.
In the US, prediction markets have drawn scrutiny from both federal and state authorities, while the Gambling Commission has also addressed how such products may be treated in Great Britain.
SEGG Media said Sports.com Predict will be rolled out in phases, subject to regulatory considerations and development progress.
The company formed Sports Predicts Limited earlier this month to support the move into prediction markets.
Marc Bircham, SEGG Media Chairman, said: “Major global tournaments, including the World Cup, create sustained fan engagement at scale, and launching ahead of it positions us to capture and monetize that demand.”
The launch forms part of SEGG Media’s wider repositioning after its rebrand from Lottery.com and expansion across Sports.com, Concerts.com, TicketStub.com, Lottery.com and Veloce Media Group.
In February, SEGG Media completed its $61m acquisition of Veloce Media Group, a motorsport, gaming and lifestyle media business. The transaction was expected to add more than $20m in annual revenue.
The company has also faced reporting-related pressure. Nasdaq issued a notice this month after SEGG Media failed to file its 2025 Form 10-K on time, giving it a period to submit a compliance plan.
Earlier this year, SEGG Media appointed former Veloce CEO Daniel Bailey as CCO and Veloce Co-Founder Jack Clarke as Chief Strategy Officer, with both executives tasked with supporting monetization and growth across the group.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is scheduled to take place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on 19 July
