Graton Resort & Casino will unveil its new $1bn expansion to guests on May 4, featuring a 144,000 sq ft non-smoking casino floor, which includes nearly 2,000 slot machines, a poker room and high-limit slots lounge.
The property is owned and operated by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and is currently the second-largest employer in Sonoma County with 3,500 employees.
Graton Resort & Casino’s $1bn expansion will look to provide a “Vegas-classic” feel to the property and is also set to introduce Aya, a 250-seat restaurant led by Chef Royden Ellamar and located on the new wing’s roof.
"We're proud to launch the whole expansion as a smoke-free option for our guests," Graton Resort & Casino CMO Jeremy Weinstein said.
"As we've seen consumer sentiment change, people are looking for a more healthy experience. For those who want to smoke, we still have the current smoking section that's unchanged."
Additional features of the expansion include the new Playbook Sports Bar which offers LED screen walls and bar food to guests, as well as artisanal doughnut shop SoCo Dough.
At the conclusion of 2025, Graton Resort & Casino hosted the world premiere of the first-ever slot games based on the Bomberman video game franchise, becoming the first venue globally to launch the new titles.
The new slot titles, Bomberman Blast and Bomberman Boom, draw on four decades of video game history and represent the first casino adaptations of the long-running Bomberman franchise.
Each game features a different lead character, with White Bomberman and Black Bomberman acting as hero figures that interact with players through animations, bonus upgrades and feature activations.
