Graton Resort & Casino has hosted the world premiere of the first-ever slot games based on the Bomberman video game franchise, becoming the first venue globally to launch the new titles.
The debut took place on 18 December 2025 in Rohnert Park, California, in partnership with Konami Gaming.
The launch event marked a dual milestone, as Graton guests were also the first players to experience Konami's new Solstice slot machine form factor, which is debuting exclusively at the Northern California resort before being rolled out elsewhere.
The premiere was supported by a live appearance from YouTube personality Scott Richter, known as The Big Jackpot, who played the machines on the casino floor during the unveiling.
The new slot titles, Bomberman Blast and Bomberman Boom, draw on four decades of video game history and represent the first casino adaptations of the long-running Bomberman franchise.
Each game features a different lead character, with White Bomberman and Black Bomberman acting as hero figures that interact with players through animations, bonus upgrades and feature activations.
Gameplay incorporates familiar visual elements from the original video games, including bombs, brick walls and power-up symbols. The slots are built on a five-reel base game and include triple metamorphic bomb features positioned above the reels. These mechanics are designed to trigger a range of bonus events, such as cash-on-reels prizes, feature rounds and access to the games' top-tier jackpots.
Commenting on the development, Brian Green, COO at Graton Resort & Casino, stated: "Bringing a retro icon like Bomberman to the casino floor is a powerful combination of nostalgia and pure adrenaline.
"Guests at Graton Resort & Casino are about to see just how explosive those classic video game moves can be when translated into jackpot power."
John Eary, VP of marketing at Konami Gaming, added: "The world premiere of Bomberman slots on Konami's newest hardware machine is a milestone moment in our company's growth. As Graton Resort & Casino is also celebrating a season of growth and expansion, this historic world premiere is an exciting collaborative effort."
The premiere follows other recent Konami developments, including the selection of its Synkros casino management system by Happy Valley Casino ahead of its 2026 opening, and a series of senior leadership promotions announced earlier this year.
Bomberman first launched as a video game franchise in 1983 and has appeared on dozens of console platforms over the last four decades
