The Instituto Provincial de Lotería y Casinos declared a joint venture qualified to advance in the tender for Casino Anexo I at the Hotel Sasso in Mar del Plata.
It is formed by hospitality workers' union UTHGRA and gaming technology company Yukon Technology and received 64 points in the technical evaluation phase, allowing it to move forward in the licensing process for one of the city's best-known casino properties.
The next stage of the process, the opening of the financial envelope known as Sobre Nº 2, is scheduled for June 3 at the provincial body's legal office. The outcome will determine which operator takes over the concession at one of Mar del Plata's most prominent casino properties.
The composition of the consortium has drawn particular attention. UTHGRA, the union representing hotel, gastronomy and related workers across Argentina, is not a traditional gaming operator. Its partnership with Yukon Technology reflects the mixed bidding structures that have periodically emerged in provincial casino tenders, where labor organizations have leveraged their industry presence to participate in concession processes.
Buenos Aires Province oversees several casino properties along the Atlantic coast through the Instituto Provincial de Lotería y Casinos, and the Sasso tender is being closely watched as a signal of how the provincial authority plans to manage future concession renewals across the network.
At the same time in Buenos Aires Province, Boldt recently secured a 20-year extension to continue operating slot machines across several provincial casino properties through 2046, highlighting the broader wave of concession renewals currently reshaping Argentina's land-based gaming sector.
The Hotel Sasso is located on the Mar del Plata seafront and has historically been one of the city's most recognized hospitality properties, giving the Casino Anexo I concession visibility beyond the gaming sector
