Brazil’s federal self-exclusion platform for online betting has surpassed 500,000 registered users, according to updated government figures highlighting the continued growth of responsible gambling tools in the country.

The latest total marks an increase of approximately 8% compared to the 462,000 users recorded last month.

Launched in December 2025 by Brazil’s regulator, the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting, through a partnership between Brazil’s Ministries of Finance and Health, the platform allows users to voluntarily block access to regulated betting websites for periods ranging from one month to an indefinite timeframe.

During the selected exclusion period, users are prevented from accessing licensed betting operators in Brazil’s regulated market.

The system also asks users, on an optional basis, to indicate the reason behind their decision to self-exclude. According to the Government, this information is being used to improve public policy and better understand behavioral patterns linked to gambling addiction.

Authorities have increasingly framed the platform as both a consumer protection and public health initiative amid growing political and institutional concern surrounding gambling-related harm in Brazil.

The federal government stated that the platform will continue integrating mental health support services through Brazil’s public healthcare system (SUS), including screening mechanisms designed to identify signs of compulsive gambling and direct users toward specialist treatment.

Brazil’s Universal Health System (SUS) now provides dedicated telehealth support focused on gambling addiction in partnership with Hospital Sírio-Libanês, one of the most prestigious private and philanthropic healthcare institutions in Brazil and Latin America.
