The SPA is also increasing monitoring activities during the FIFA Club World Cup

Brazil’s Ministry of Finance has announced plans to publish more than 25,000 documents related to completed betting license applications, expanding public access to information about the country’s regulated gambling market.

The initiative was announced by Executive Secretary Dario Durigan alongside Secretary of Prizes and Betting Daniele Cardoso and will cover authorization processes already concluded by the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA).

According to the Ministry, the documents will be made available through its official website following a review process designed to remove personal data and other legally protected information.

Durigan said the measure reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to transparency regarding the regulation of fixed-odds betting.

“My commitment, like President Lula’s commitment, is to transparency. This Government is not a government of secrecy, it is not a Government that intends to hoard information and withhold information from the people,” he said.

“Therefore, in the coming days, all processes concerning companies regulated by the SPA that have been completed will be widely publicized.”

The publication process will be conducted in partnership with Brazil’s Office of the Comptroller General (CGU). Once prepared, the files will be released progressively for public consultation.

The announcement follows recent discussions around public access to betting licensing records and comes as the Ministry continues developing new regulatory measures for the sector.

Separately, the SPA confirmed that it is strengthening monitoring and enforcement efforts during the FIFA Club World Cup.

According to the regulator, meetings have already been held with public prosecutors, consumer protection authorities and members of Brazil’s National Consumer Protection System to reinforce compliance with advertising and responsible gambling requirements.
