Brightstar Lottery has announced a leadership transition within its global lottery division, with Marco Tasso set to assume responsibility for worldwide lottery operations following the departure of longtime executive Renato Ascoli.
Tasso will take on the newly created role of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Global Lottery, effective July 1.
He currently serves as COO of International and Italy Operations and brings more than 20 years of experience across lottery management, product development, retail operations and supply chain leadership.
In his new role, Tasso will oversee Brightstar’s global lottery operations, including technology, product development, marketing, sales, product management, supply chain, customer support and field services, reporting directly to CEO Vince Sadusky.
Ascoli will step down on June 30 after a 20-year career in the lottery and gaming industry with Brightstar and its predecessor companies.
During that time, he held several senior leadership positions and played a key role in the company’s lottery technology, product and commercial strategy.
"As Renato prepares to step down, I want to thank him for his many years of service and steadfast commitment to our business and people," said Vince Sadusky, CEO of Brightstar.
"Having Marco as a part of our senior leadership team supports the company's vision and strategic goals. As we strengthen our focus on growth, transformation and operational execution, Marco's insights and experience will help shape the lottery operating organization and optimize it to deliver results."
Brightstar recently signed a three-year extension with Slovakian state-owned lottery operator Tipos, continuing a partnership that has lasted for more than three decades.
Brightstar reported revenue of $587m in Q1 2026, up 1% from $583m during the same period last year
