The Italian Handball Federation (FIGH) has announced a partnership with Novomatic Italia, which will serve as the federation's main partner for national teams over a three-year period from 2026 to 2029.
Novomatic will serve as the shirt sponsor for all of the Italian national teams, at both senior and youth levels, through its AdmiralPay E-wallet brand. This is a digital wallet and smart payment solution by Admiral for money management, as well as general purchases and payments.
Novomatic Italia CEO Markus Buechele stated: "The agreement with the FIGH is part of our commitment to supporting quality organisations capable of generating a tangible and positive impact on the local community.
"This collaboration also represents a sign of mutual trust and an important step towards increasing handball's visibility and audience, which we intend to contribute to with a decisive boost."
FIGH President Stefano Podini added: "Signing this partnership agreement with Novomatic is a source of great pride for the Federation and the Italian handball movement. With Novomatic Italia, we are placing a leading, innovative, and internationally recognised organisation alongside the Federation, our national teams, and the movement.’’
The operator, as the top sponsor, will also feature its APay E-Wallet brand on referees' uniforms at the national championships and major federation events, as well as through broader storytelling across the federation’s digital channels.
In March, Admiral Pay announced a strategic agreement with the Entain-owned Eurobet operator.
The deal will see Admiral Pay’s APay E-Wallet payment solution integrated across the Italian-based bookmaker’s digital platform and nationwide retail network.
In announcing the partnership, Admiral Pay described it as a step towards building a ‘phygital ecosystem,’ combining digital payment tools with Eurobet’s extensive land-based network.
