Entain has announced a series of board committee changes following Amanda Brown’s decision to step down as an independent non-executive director.
Brown will leave the board on 30 June 2026. She had served as Chair of the Remuneration Committee and was also a member of the People & Governance Committee.
Entain Chair, Pierre Bouchut, said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Amanda for her valuable contribution to the Board and Entain more generally and wish her well for her future endeavours.”
Brown said: “I have enjoyed my time at Entain and wish the Company well for the future.”
The operator has appointed Virginia McDowell as Remuneration Committee Chair from the same date. Michael Goldberg will join the Remuneration Committee, while Sheila Bangalore has been appointed to the People & Governance Committee.
The changes come during a period of wider strategic adjustment at Entain. The Ladbrokes, Coral and bwin operator reported 3% Group NGR growth on a constant currency basis in Q1 2026, supported by 13% growth in UK and Ireland online NGR.
BetMGM, its US joint venture with MGM Resorts, also reported Q1 net revenue of $696m and adjusted EBITDA of $25m.
Corporate governance has remained a focus for the group following several years of leadership changes and strategic reviews.
Entain appointed Stella David as CEO on a permanent basis earlier this year and has continued efforts to simplify operations while improving financial flexibility.
Investors have also been monitoring the group's response to higher UK gambling taxes and ongoing regulatory pressures across several key markets.
The committee reshuffle follows reports that Entain is exploring strategic options for its Entain CEE joint venture, including a potential disposal. The review forms part of a broader assessment of capital allocation priorities as the operator balances debt reduction efforts with investment in regulated growth markets.
Sheila Bangalore's appointment to the People & Governance Committee comes shortly after her addition to the board in May. Bangalore previously held senior positions within the gaming technology sector, including leadership roles at Bally Technologies and Aristocrat Technologies, bringing further industry experience to Entain's governance structure.
The board update follows Entain's recent UK consumer awareness campaign during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Research commissioned by the operator found that 74% of UK adults struggle to identify illegal gambling advertisements on social media, amid wider concerns about the growth of unlicensed betting activity.
Virginia McDowell already serves on several Entain board committees and will continue as a member of both the Audit & Risk Committee and the People & Governance Committee
