Fantasy Life has appointed RotoWire Co-Founder and former President Peter Schoenke as the fantasy sports and betting platform’s new CEO, having recently completed a funding round led by LRMR Ventures and SC Holdings.
"Fantasy Life has quickly become one of the most exciting companies in fantasy sports by bringing together elite content, innovative products and an incredibly passionate community," Schoenke said.
"Matthew and the team have built something truly special, and I'm honored to be part of what's next. Together, we'll continue finding new ways to help fantasy fans gain an edge, stay informed and get even more enjoyment from the games they love."
In his new role with Fantasy Life – founded by former ESPN employee Matthew Berry in 2022 – Schoenke will lead the platform through its next phase of growth as it continues expanding its media, technology and gaming experiences.
Under his leadership, RotoWire launched fantasy sports staples such as player notes, free commissioner services, custom cheat sheets and optimizer tools, having been acquired by Gambling.com Group in 2022 for $27.5m.
Berry also spoke on the new appointment, having said, "Few people have had a greater impact on the fantasy sports industry than Peter.
"For nearly three decades, he's driven innovation while earning the respect of fans and peers alike. His passion for serving fantasy fans aligns perfectly with what we're building at Fantasy Life, and I'm thrilled to welcome him as CEO."
Beyond his new role with Fantasy Life, Schoenke also serves as a Board Member of the Fantasy Sports & Gaming Association, and joined The Huddle in 2024 to discuss all things fnatasy sports.
