Great Canadian Entertainment has finalised the sale of its Elements Casino Chilliwack property to a consortium group of certain communities from the Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe, representing a “transformational milestone” for the reservation.
“Our communities have built a diverse business portfolio over the years in commercial real estate development, sustainable forestry operations, environmental stewardship and conservation of cultural values and energy infrastructure,” Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe Management President & Chief David Jimmie said.
“This acquisition is the next step in that growth. Elements Casino Chilliwack is a strong, established business, and we're proud to bring gaming and hospitality into our portfolio. This transaction shows what our communities are capable of when we compete and lead in the business world.”
The Ts’elxwéyeqw Tribe consists of seven First Nation communities and are the First People of the Chilliwack River watershed.
Elements Casino Chilliwack is located in the Fraser Valley of Chilliwack, British Columbia and features over 300 slot machines, live and electronic table games, bingo, dining, live entertainment and more.
Great Canadian CEO Matt Anfinson also spoke on the agreement, having said, “We are thrilled to welcome the Ts’elxwéyeqw Group to BC’s gaming industry.

Great Canadian also closed on the sale of its River Rock Casino Resort property in Richmond, British Columbia to Petroglyph Development Group in June, which acts as a wholly owned corporation of Snuneymuxw First Nation and Musqueam Capital.
Both entities serve as the economic development arm of the Musqueam Indian Band Tribe, which has now closed on the acquisition of five properties from Great Canadian.
Great Canadian was fined $120,000 for using unauthorised gaming system software at four separate casino properties in Ontario, found to be installed between 20 February and 15 March 2025
