Ilitch Gaming acquires final 50% ownership stake in Ocean Casino Resort

Ilitch Gaming, formed in June 2026 as the Ilitch Companies’ new gaming, hospitality and entertainment platform, has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% ownership stake in Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. 

"Ocean Casino Resort has become an exceptional resort destination through the dedication of our talented colleagues, sustained investment in the property and a commitment to the guest experience," Ilitch Gaming CEO & CDO John Policicchio said. 

"Atlantic City remains one of the country’s most important gaming and hospitality markets, and achieving full ownership of Ocean represents an important milestone. We look forward to working with our Ocean colleagues to build on the momentum they have created."

Ilitch Gaming originally acquired its previous 50% stake in Ocean Casino Resort during 2021, having worked with the Atlantic City property’s leadership team to strengthen operating performance and make “substantial” investments in guest experiences. 

At the time of writing, Ilitch Gaming also oversees MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit, Michigan and formed an agreement to acquire Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville, Mississippi during June. 

Ocean Casino Resort offers guests 1,860 guest rooms and suites, a 135,000 sq ft casino floor, 4,500-seat entertainment venue and over 160,000 sq ft of meeting and convention space.

The formation of Ilitch Gaming looks to build upon the legacy of Marian Ilitch and her late husband Mike, who founded the Little Caesars restaurant chain and came to own MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit.

Ilitch Companies CEO Chris Ilitch serves as Chairperson of the new platform, while Bruce Dall and Policicchio were appointed as Vice Chairperson and CEO & CDO, respectively.
