Totalizator Sportowy has announced plans to cooperate with the Border Guard Academy in Koszalin, focusing on knowledge sharing and the exchange of best practices in national security with particular attention to violations of Poland’s Gambling Act, including illegal activity in the online gambling market.
Under the agreement, the two organisations will share expertise on gambling-related offences and fraudulent activity. The cooperation aims to strengthen the Border Guard’s analytical and IT capabilities in detecting potential violations and improving methods used to identify illegal operations.

‘’Establishing a permanent partnership focused on training, research and practical cooperation, supported by modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity systems and data analysis, can strengthen public safety and the protection of national borders.”
Totalizator Sportowy’s latest initiative follows broader industry efforts to improve responsible gambling measures and combat illegal operators
The agreement is the latest step in Totalizator Sportowy’s wider efforts to improve cooperation across the sectors. In June, the company signed a letter of intent with the Credit Information Bureau (BIK) to promote responsible gambling, financial security and ethical data management.
Also in June, experts from Totalizator Sportowy, the Polish Bank Association and the National Clearing House called for greater use of financial data analysis, artificial intelligence and cooperation between institutions to tackle illegal online gambling.
Marek Plota, an online gaming legal expert, discussed the development with Global Gaming Insider, noting that while real-time blocking of illegal gambling transactions would be the preferred approach, it is not always technically possible. He added that retrospective analysis still remains highly valuable.
Earlier in February, Totalizator Sportowy and the Polish police signed a letter of intent aimed at strengthening cooperation in the fight against illegal gambling.
Polish mobile payments system Blik will begin blocking transactions linked to illegal gambling websites from 1 September, following regulatory approval from the President of the National Bank of Poland.
