Denmark's regulated gambling market recorded a 23.6% year-on-year increase in total gambling spend during June 2026, driven primarily by a sharp rise in betting activity, according to the latest monthly figures published by the Danish Gambling Authority.
The regulator reported betting spend increased 68.6% compared with June 2025, substantially outpacing every other gambling segment.
Online casino also continued its upward trajectory with year-on-year growth of 16%, reinforcing its position as one of the country's largest regulated gambling verticals.
Land-based sectors delivered mixed results. Gaming machines declined 2%, land-based casinos slipped 0.7% and land-based bingo recorded a 5% increase over the same period last year.
The monthly dataset also includes updates on ROFUS, Denmark's national self-exclusion register, and the StopSpillet gambling support helpline, reflecting the regulator's continued monitoring of both market performance and responsible gambling measures.
The June figures extend a trend seen throughout much of 2026. After relatively modest overall growth in April, the Danish market accelerated in May, when total gambling spend increased 21.5% year-on-year before rising further in June.

Betting has been the principal contributor to recent monthly gains after recording a significant decline during comparable periods in 2025, when the market was affected by unusually strong betting activity surrounding the UEFA European Championship in June 2024.
Online casino has also remained consistently resilient throughout the year, delivering double-digit annual growth in successive monthly reports. Meanwhile, retail gambling segments have shown more limited movement, suggesting the strongest momentum continues to come from digital products within Denmark's regulated market.
The Danish Gambling Authority publishes monthly statistics covering betting, online casino, gaming machines, land-based casinos and bingo, alongside data on ROFUS and StopSpillet.
The regulator's statistics portal also tracks the number of registered self-excluded players, which exceeded 73,000 earlier this year, highlighting the continued emphasis on consumer protection alongside market oversight.
Earlier this week, the Danish Gambling Authority opened applications for new land-based casino licences under Denmark's updated Gambling Act, allowing successful applicants to obtain licences for up to 10 years as the country continues to develop its regulated gambling framework.
