Holland Casino has announced that the Dutch Gambling Authority (KSA) has extended its online casino licence for a further five years, effective from 1 October.
The operator said the renewal highlights its continued commitment to providing a safe and responsible gambling environment.
Holland Casino CEO Petra de Ruiter said: “In the coming period, we will continue to commit to a safe and responsible online offering, where player protection always comes first.
“At the same time, it remains essential that the regulated market is attractive enough to keep players away from unregulated providers, where supervision and protection are lacking.”
Meanwhile, Fair Play, TOTO Online and Kansino have also announced that their online licences have been renewed.
Alongside licence renewals, the KSA has resumed enforcement action following a short break. The regulator has addressed BetCity and TOTO over violations of the ban on using role models in gambling advertising.
The breaches were identified during intensified supervision carried out by the KSA around the World Cup. In both cases, the operators used recognisable references to well-known professional footballers in their advertisements. This is not permitted under Dutch advertising rules.
At BetCity, betting options were displayed alongside national team shirts featuring the names and numbers of players such as Mbappé and Olise. Although the players were not shown, the combination created a clear association with professional athletes.
At TOTO , an advertisement featuring the text - “Mbappé hattrick? Win €100. Play here” - alongside a shirt displaying his number was also found to breach the rules.
Following intervention from the KSA, the advertisements were removed immediately.
To protect young people, at-risk gamblers and problem gamblers, strict rules apply to online gambling advertising and to licensees offering land-based sports betting
