The Missouri Gaming Commission has unveiled the state’s casino activity for August 2026, as commercial operators combined to generate nearly $171.4m of revenue during the monthly period, representing a decrease of 3%.
Despite leading all operators in Missouri with $26.6m of revenue for August, Ameristar St. Charles reported a decrease of 3% as well. River City Casino managed to produce $23.5m of revenue but still fell 2% year-over-year.
Hollywood Casino and Ameristar Kansas City reported August casino revenues of $22.2m and $17.9m, respectively, representing a decrease of 7% while Ameristar Kansas City’s revenue remained stagnant from the prior year period.
Harrah’s Kansas City accounted for just over $14.9m of the state’s total casino revenue for August and decreased 7%, while Argosy Casino Resort reported a 3% fall to $14.3m.
Marking the largest decrease from August 2025, Horseshoe St. Louis witnessed a fall of 9% during the monthly period but still managed to generate $14m. Bally’s Kansas City followed with $10.7m, having decreased 5%.

Isle of Capri Boonville managed to increase revenue 1% to $8.4m during August, while Century Cape Casino revenue remained stagnant at $6.1m. Century Caruthersville reported a decrease of 4% to $5.2m, while St. Jo Frontier grew revenue 1% to $4.2m.
Mark Twain Casino generated the largest year-over-year increase of any commercial gaming establishment in Missouri despite reporting the lowest total for August, having risen 7% to just over $3.2m.
Revenue from electronic gaming devices reached $150.2m during August but decreased 1%, while table game revenue in Missouri fell 18% for a total of $21.1m.
The Missouri Gaming Commission also reported the state’s total sports wagering activity for July 2026 on August 31, as revenue from commercial and online operators totaled $21.8m, equating to growth of 59.4% month-over-month.
Online sports betting in Missouri accounted for $21.2m of the state’s total revenue for July and increased 59.4%, while retail revenue grew 58.9% to $584,275. Despite Missouri’s sports betting revenue increasing month-over-month, the state’s handle decreased 4.5% to $246.8m.
