Light & Wonder SciPlay CEO Josh Wilson announced his intentions to step down from the role on October 30, with current Light & Wonder CFO Oliver Chow set to take over responsibilities for the social casino business.
The supplier confirmed a search for Wilson’s successor has already commenced, while Chow will remain in his role as Light & Wonder CFO throughout the transition.
"Josh has made a substantial contribution to SciPlay over more than two decades, taking the business through its initial public offering and building a portfolio of leading social casino titles alongside a strong team and culture. On behalf of the Board and the leadership team, I thank him for that contribution and wish him well,” Light & Wonder President & CEO Matt Wilson said.
“We are taking the time to appoint the right leader for SciPlay's next phase. In the meantime, Oliver will work closely with the talented and experienced SciPlay leadership team, whose deep knowledge of the business, brands and players will provide important continuity as we move through this transition.
“Our confidence in the social casino category, in SciPlay's brands and in the opportunity to grow direct-to-consumer remains unchanged."
Wilson has served as SciPlay CEO since May 2019 and previously held titles such as Senior Director of Social Products for William Hill and Director of Online Gaming for Phantom EFX.
With Scientific Games, Wilson’s titles included COO and SVP of Social Gaming, VP of Product and Operations, VP of Product and originally beginning his career with the supplier in December 2013 as Executive Director of Social Gaming Products.
In April, Light & Wonder appointed Lauren Bates as General Manager for the supplier’s Canadian operations – including management of its core business segments – such as games, systems and table products as it continues to develop its presence in the market.
The appointment consolidates leadership oversight across multiple verticals within the country, bringing together the supplier’s land-based and digital offerings under a single regional position.
Light & Wonder reported its financial activity for Q2 and H1 2026 on August 4, with revenue and consolidated AEBITDA managing to rise year-over-year despite a fall in first half net income
