The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has granted nine limited event wagering licenses to local businesses through partnerships with Caesars Sportsbook and Turf Paradise, granting each facility authorization to provide retail sports betting.

A limited event wagering license in Arizona allows an operator to offer retail sports wagering in partnership with a racetrack or an off-track betting location which maintains a permit issued by the Division of Racing.

From August 13-27, the ADG opened an application window for limited event wagering licenses, previously stating a maximum of 10 permits would be allocated to retail facilities located across the state.

Operators who were granted a limited event wagering license include Turf Paradise Racetrack, Boston’s Bar & Grille, Connolly’s Sports Grill, Harold’s Cave Creek Corral, Red Zone Sports Grill, two RT O’Sullivan locations, The Nest North Sports Grill and Trophy Bar.

The ADG intends to work with the new licensees on the next steps prior to operational launch, although the permits retroactively went into effect on September 11.

Each of the facilities will be prohibited from offering online sports wagering, however, as all bets must be placed within the retail property.

Since the launch of regulated sports betting in Arizona, bettors have wagered a total of $36.6bn across retail and online operations, resulting in privilege fees of $198.9m paid to the state.

On September 14, the ADG reported the state’s event wagering activity for July 2026, as mobile and retail operators reported a total betting handle of $599.5m, equating to an increase of 29.3% year-over-year.

Operators managed to combine for $48.6m of event wagering revenue and grew 19.3%, with FanDuel leading all licensed Arizona operators with $16.7m of revenue during July, having increased 20.1%.
