Veikkaus has confirmed that floorball will return to its betting offering following the conclusion of a major disciplinary process by the Finnish Floorball Federation.
The decision comes after the federation's Competition and Disciplinary Committee (KKR) issued 80 competition bans linked to widespread betting rule breaches between 2021 and 2025.
The sanctions follow an extensive investigation by the Finnish Centre for Sports Ethics (SUEK), which examined betting activity by 114 players and officials. SUEK identified extensive and long-running violations of betting restrictions, including insider-trading suspicions and prohibited wagering on F-League matches by individuals directly connected to teams.
While violations were found to be systemic, investigators reported no evidence of match manipulation.
The KKR has imposed bans ranging from late January to late June 2026, depending on the severity of individual cases. Those sanctioned may continue training but are barred from competition across all leagues under the federation's authority.
Names will not be publicly released, with the federation citing data-protection considerations and the risk of disproportionate additional punishment.
Veikkaus stated that SUEK had full access to its betting data during the investigation and affirmed confidence in how the matter was handled by all parties.
Commenting on the matter, Mikko Lahti, Veikkaus's Director of Risk Management and Security, said the operator is satisfied that the key integrity concern - match manipulation - was not identified. He described the conclusion of the disciplinary process as an opportunity "to start from scratch," while emphasising that similar breaches must not recur.
Floorball was removed from Veikkaus's offering during the investigation but will be reinstated in the near future.
One individual in the investigation was found to have placed 184 bets totalling more than €8,600 ($10,000)
