Digitain has appointed Domenico Mazzola as Head of Sales for Italy. The company believes the Italian market is mature and highly competitive, where operators require technology partners who understand both the county's regulatory framework and the reality of running a gaming business.
Mazzola's role, therefore, will be to help Digtain develop relationships with Italian operators.
Indeed, Mazzola brings a decade of experience in iGaming technology and commercial development. In the company's official press release, he stated: "I've spent much of my career helping operators grow and working on the technology behind their businesses. That experience has taught me that there is rarely a one-size-fits-all answer, particularly in a market like Italy."
In 2025, Italy's gambling market reached a record €165.34bn ($192.5bn) in total volume. According to the report, the country’s gambling volume represented 7.3% of national GDP.
Mazzola began his career as a software developer, before moving into sales. In 2023, he founded a company which helped businesses develop a commercial strategy for competitive markets.
The year after, he co-founded and led CatoriTech, an iGaming software development company.
Dario Jurčić, Chief Commercial Officer for Europe and Africa, commented: "We have ambitious plans for Italy, and Domenico is someone who understands this market from both a commercial and a technological perspective.
"He knows the challenges operators face because he has worked closely with them for years, including from the technology provider's side. That experience is exactly what we want as we develop Digitain's presence in Italy."
Jurčić was recently appointed CCO for Europe and Asia to oversee commercial strategy, partner development and regional expansion efforts. His new appointment comes after a busy year for the company, with Digitain undergoing several notable leadership and expansion developments.
