Scientific Games has appointed Dan Flynn as the lottery company's new CEO, succeeding Interim CEO Kevin Schneider, who will now serve as Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors.
In August, former Scientific Games CEO Pat McHugh unveiled his intentions to retire from the position by September 8, having served with the supplier for over 20 years.
Flynn joins Scientific Games from technology and software provider CDK Global, where he worked as President of North America operations from December 2017 to September 2019, prior to re-joining the organization as EVP & Chief Transformation Officer in July 2022.
"For more than five decades, Scientific Games has grown through strong customer partnerships, deep lottery expertise and a commitment to innovation," Schneider said.
"Dan brings the operational and technology leadership experience to build on that momentum, support our talented teams and advance our global capabilities to support continued growth and the opportunities ahead. Together, we will help our customers meet evolving player expectations and succeed in an increasingly competitive marketplace."
With CDK Global, Flynn led strategic transformation, software modernization and business improvement initiatives over the past four years.
Speaking on his new role, Flynn said: "Scientific Games combines global operations, technology and customer delivery in ways that align closely with my experience.
"I look forward to bringing that experience to a talented team with deep lottery expertise and a strong commitment to customer success. Together, we will build on the company's achievements, support our employees' development and strengthen the capabilities needed for future growth. Our focus will be on delivering the games, technology and services that help lotteries achieve their objectives and responsibly grow funding for good causes."
As part of additional executive personnel movement for Scientific Games, the supplier named Ray Anderson as Interim CFO following the departure of Nick Negro on May 15, following three years in the CFO role.
Anderson brings more than 30 years of finance and audit experience, primarily through leadership positions at KPMG in the US, Europe and Asia.
