Over 1,300 workers at Wynn Resorts’ Encore Boston Harbor property – represented by Teamsters Local 25 and Unite Here Local 26 – have agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement, officially bringing an end to their near one-month strike.

The new five-and-a-half-year agreement guaranteed “significant” wage increases, enhanced benefits and improved working conditions for those represented by the two unions.

"This strike showed what happens when working people stand together and refuse to back down. Our members remained united and fought for the respect and contract they deserve," Teamsters Local 25 President Thomas Mari said.

"Encore Boston Harbor is a world-class operation because of the people who make it run every day, and this agreement recognizes the value of these workers. This is what union solidarity looks like."

On August 24, Teamsters Local 25 and Unite Here Local 26 members voted to a 97% majority to authorize a strike at Encore Boston Harbor once the property “refused to bargain in good faith for a new contract.”

The strike at Encore Boston Harbor officially commenced on September 4, with the property accounting for $847m of Wynn Resorts full-year 2025 revenue according to the unions.

Workers who went on strike include warehouse personnel, cage cashiers, guests experience staff and valet drivers, as well as those in Encore Boston Harbor’s horticulture, call center and dispatch departments.

Wynn Resorts may have felt compelled to bring an end to the strike after Encore Boston Harbor’s revenue decreased 22.1% during September to $46.1m.

"We proudly stood together as union brothers and sisters and fought for the contract and respect we deserved all along," Local 25 Chief Steward James Atkins said.

"Now we're proud to be heading back to work, bringing that same solidarity, pride and commitment to our fellow workers, our guests and the job every day."
