The Responsible Gambling Council has officially partnered with the NHL's Ottawa Senators on a new venture which seeks to promote responsible gambling messaging in Ice Hockey.
Indeed, this partnership is set to run until June 2027, with the council retaining the option to extend - and will see RG-related messaging and content featured in both Ontario and Quebec alongside the Senator's broadcasts.
More specifically, messaging around the Canadian Tire Centre will be displayed as part of in-arena activations and digital signage initiatives. Elsewhere, the RGC is also set to officially sponsor the 'Great Saves' in-game feature at a number of selected home games via the Senator's online media channels.
Speaking on this latest deal, RGC CEO Sarah McCarthy said: "Sports and sports betting are increasingly connected in today's entertainment landscape. This partnership allows us to reach people when they're getting in the game with their team, in those moments when emotions are running high, and provide them with practical information about how to keep gambling safe and enjoyable."
Indeed, this latest collaboration closely follows the Ottawa Senator's additional partnership with Soft2Bet via the company's ToonieBet subsidiary.
Also commenting on this latest deal, Senators Sports' VP of Corporate Partnerships Martin Ballard, stated: "The Ottawa Senators organization is excited to partner with the Responsible Gambling Council. This collaboration supports our commitment to fan wellbeing and aligns with our core values and beliefs."
This partnership is reflective of the RGC's approach to collaborating with a multitude of industry participants and organizations to further promote safer gambling messaging and harm prevention resources across the North American continent.
In September, the RGC announced it would serve as a vendor of a new certification program in partnership with the Responsible Online Gaming Association
