The North Carolina State Lottery Commission has reported the total sports betting activity for November 2025, including a 19% increase in gross wagering revenue for a total of $92.9m.
Throughout November 2025, North Carolina bettors generated a total handle of nearly $814m, representing an increase of 23.8% from the prior year period. The state also paid out close to $717.6m in winnings to bettors, a slight decrease from the $729m produced for October 2025.
The $92.9m reported for November 2025 also equates to a rise of 18.9% from the gross wagering revenue produced for October. As a result of the gross wagering revenue for November, operators contributed a total of $16.7m in tax proceeds.
Nearly $3.5m of wagers were either cancelled or voided by respective operators throughout November 2025, while $22.3m of the total handle was generated through promotional wagering offers.
On October 3, North Carolina opened two facilities designed to support its responsible gambling framework following the legalization of sports betting in March 2024.
The Center of Excellence for Gambling Addiction Policy and Practice (CEGAPP) and the Professional Development Center (PDC) began providing training, resources and professional development opportunities for the behavioral health workforce.
CEGAPP focuses on building specialized knowledge among addiction professionals, offering training in prevention, treatment and recovery, while the PDC complements this work by addressing broader workforce needs and creating mentorship pathways for new providers.
Both initiatives are led by the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina and funded by the state's Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities and Substance Use Services.
