Flutter has announced the appointment of a new CEO

This switch follows a period of major executive change at Flutter

Dan Taylor has been announced as Flutter Entertainment's new CEO, taking over from Peter Jackson, who will remain at the company as an advisor through the transition.

Taylor is set to step up from his current role as CEO of Flutter’s International operations, effective October 1 2026. This latest development comes as part of a flurry of major executive changeover for the operator.

Indeed, following the removal of Amy Howe as FanDuel CEO, replaced by Christian Genetski, in May – Jackson’s tenure is also now coming to a close.

During his eight-plus years in charge of the operator, he helped steer Flutter through the Covid-19 pandemic, driving rapid expansion across the US following the overturning of PASPA and fielding significant regulatory change across the European landscape.

The rise and rise of Dan Taylor

Having operated as Flutter’s International CEO for six years – as well as advancing from Paddy Power Betfair Managing Director to CEO between 2015 and 2020 – Taylor brings a wealth of both company and broader industry experience, particularly in the UK market. He will now look to utilize his experience managing the operator’s international division as he helps steer the company through a pivotal period of change, particularly in the US landscape.

Indeed, his appointment as dual President and CEO of Flutter International in May incidentally coincided with the conclusion of Howe’s FanDuel tenure, acting perhaps as an indicator of this latest major switchover. At the time, discussion of Genetski’s more aggressive managerial technique was rife in comparison to Howe’s reportedly forgiving approach. Whether this development represents a reflection of that supposed strategy or, perhaps, the antithesis, remains to be seen.

Commenting on his appointment, Taylor stated: "I'm delighted to take on the role of Group Chief Executive Officer at such an important time for Flutter. Our priority will be to keep delivering for our colleagues, customers and shareholders, while building on the momentum we've created across the business. The opportunities ahead are significant – both those we see in the market today and those we will create ourselves in the future. I look forward to leading the business as we continue to innovate, grow and build on the strengths that make Flutter unique."

How does Peter Jackson look back on his tenure?

There is no doubt Jackson oversaw a period of huge growth and corporatization at Flutter. Ultimately, the operator's primary listing on the New York Stock Exchange took place during Jackson's tenure.

Pressure from prediction markets, however, such as Kalshi, Polymarket, Crypto.com, PrizePicks and Underdog (bought recently by IG Group – led by former Paddy Power Betfair CEO Breon Corcoran) hugely impacted Flutter's stock in recent months.

The outgoing CEO reflected: "It has been such a privilege to lead Flutter's transformation, and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved over nearly nine years. Flutter is a fantastic business, with a portfolio of world-class brands, talented colleagues and genuine competitive advantages. Having worked closely with Dan for many years, I have seen first-hand his ability to grow businesses, build strong teams and deliver exceptional results. I leave with great confidence in Dan, the leadership team and the company's future."

Flutter Chair on "gold-medal positions"

Flutter’s Chair of the Board John Bryant also commented: "The Board is pleased to appoint Dan as Flutter’s next Group Chief Executive Officer. He has an outstanding track record of delivering results, building high-performing teams and leading complex international businesses. Dan’s breadth of experience and responsibilities across the Group, combined with his deep understanding of the industry, give us every confidence that he is the right person to lead Flutter into its next phase of growth.

“On behalf of the Board, I would also like to thank Peter for his significant contribution to the business. Under his leadership, Flutter has transformed from Paddy Power Betfair into the world’s leading online sports betting and iGaming operator. He has led its growth into a truly global business, built a portfolio of market-leading brands and strengthened the capabilities that underpin its success. Peter leaves Flutter with gold-medal positions around the world and exceptionally well positioned for the future.”
