FanDuel has announced the appointment of Keith Whyte as Responsible Gaming Strategic Advisor, coinciding with Responsible Gaming Education Month in September.
Whyte brings over 30 years of experience in responsible gambling and problem gambling prevention.
He previously served as Executive Director of the National Council on Problem Gambling for more than 25 years, where he led efforts to promote awareness and support for individuals experiencing gambling harm. He is currently Founder and President of Safer Gambling Strategies.
In his new role, Whyte will provide guidance on FanDuel's responsible gaming programs and identify opportunities for advocacy and partnership development.
He will also contribute to the company's "Trusted Voices: Conversations About Betting" program, which was launched in partnership with Epic Global Solutions and FanDuel Responsible Gaming Ambassadors Randy Livingston and Anita Ondine Smith.
The Trusted Voices program is designed to equip parents, guardians and coaches with resources to discuss gambling risks with young people; the initiative includes educational content about recognising warning signs of problem gambling and accessing support services.
Commenting on the development, Cory Fox, FanDuel SVP of Public Policy & Sustainability, stated: "We are honored to have Keith Whyte join our team as a strategic advisor for our responsible gaming programming.
"At FanDuel, we are committed to elevating the industry standard for Responsible Gaming. We're excited to welcome Keith to our Responsible Gaming team and are confident his experience and subject matter knowledge will further strengthen our leadership in this space."
Whyte himself added: "FanDuel has consistently demonstrated industry leading commitment to Responsible Gaming, and I've long admired their proactive approach. I'm thrilled to join the team and contribute my experience to further advancing FanDuel's efforts in promoting safe and responsible play."
The announcement comes as major operators, including DraftKings, are also spotlighting responsible gaming initiatives throughout September.
