The Romanian Government's National Gambling Office has added a new list of online gambling sites to its blacklist.
The full reasons for each operator's punishment is not detailed, but a Government document declaring the decision makes reference to rules about operating without a licence or not paying authorisation fees.
What this means practically for the 11 sites named is that authorised providers of internet communication networks or services will be prohibited from allowing access to those sites.
The list of new blacklisted URLs includes '15playjonny77,' gg265.bet, 'nordicasino.co.uk' and 'justbit.io' among others, but the list of authorised internet providers is longer with 567 entries.
All of these providers will now be obliged to redirect access from the blacklisted sites.
As of 16 December, the date of the official Government communication, the providers have 15 days to implement this protocol.
The goal will be to restrict any and all accessibility by Romanian citizens to these unauthorised gambling websites.
This decision was reached by a Supervisory Committee, at a meeting held on 11 December.
The update reflects similar action taken by the Romanian Government in recent months, though in August, the number of illicit operators added to the blacklist was 30.
The country is also legislating to provide more protection for young people in the country against both the black and the regulated markets - a proposal filed in Parliament on 5 November would raise the legal gambling age from 18 to 21 if it was made law.
A new bill in the Romanian Parliament would prohibit influencers, athletes and public figures from promoting gambling services
