Dan Taylor is a senior Flutter Entertainment executive who will succeed Peter Jackson as Group CEO on 1 October 2026, completing a steady rise through the ranks of global gambling’s largest operator.
Dan Taylor is Peter Jackson's successor as the Flutter Entertainment CEO. In the operator's Q2 announcement, it was confirmed that Jackson would be stepping down after nine years at the helm.
Who is Dan Taylor?
Taylor joined Paddy Power in 2015 and has since held leadership roles spanning retail, UK and Irish operations and Flutter’s wider international business. His career combines gambling operations with an earlier background in strategy consulting, digital media, M&A and business transformation.
He was appointed CEO of Flutter International in July 2020 and became President of Flutter in May 2026, broadening his commercial responsibilities across the organisation ahead of his elevation to CEO.
Education and other roles
Taylor studied Economics at the University of Cambridge, graduating in 2001.
Outside of Flutter, he has served as a Non-Executive Director of UK homewares retailer Dunelm since 2024 and has also held private investment interests outside the gambling sector.
Career journey
Taylor entered the gambling industry relatively late in his career.
After studying Economics at the University of Cambridge, he spent almost eight years with OC&C Strategy Consultants, eventually becoming an Associate Partner specialising in media and telecommunications.
He moved into strategy and commercial development at DMG Media. He later became Managing Director of Teletext Holidays, overseeing a turnaround of the online travel business and its subsequent sale.
Taylor joined Paddy Power in March 2015 as Managing Director of Retail. He was promoted to Managing Director of UK & Ireland in 2017 before becoming CEO of Paddy Power Betfair in January 2018.
Following Flutter's combination with The Stars Group, he was appointed CEO of Flutter International in July 2020.
As President and CEO of Flutter International, Taylor oversaw a global portfolio encompassing major brands and businesses including Paddy Power, Betfair, Sky Betting & Gaming, PokerStars, Sportsbet, Sisal, Snai, Betnacional, MaxBet and Adjarabet.
Flutter International operates across markets including the UK and Ireland, Italy, Australia, Brazil and Central and Eastern Europe.
Taylor's remit expanded further when he became Flutter President in 2026, giving him responsibility for commercial delivery across both the International division and FanDuel.
In 2025, Flutter International generated more than $9bn in revenue and $2.2bn in adjusted EBITDA. Now, he will run the whole division, facing several important challenges, including how to combat prediction markets.
Key achievements
Taylor has played a significant role in expanding Flutter's footprint through both organic growth and M&A.
His tenure has included the integration and expansion of Sisal in Italy, MaxBet in Central and Eastern Europe and NSX Group in Brazil, owner of the Betnacional brand.
Flutter's acquisition of Snai further strengthened its position in Italy, while the NSX transaction helped establish a larger presence in Brazil following the country's transition to a federally regulated betting market.
Flutter has also credited product transformation, integration and efficiency programmes undertaken during Taylor's career with the company with delivering more than $300m in realised incremental synergies and efficiencies.
Leadership and strategy
Taylor's background makes him somewhat atypical among major gambling CEOs.
Rather than building his career exclusively through sportsbook operations or trading, much of his early experience centred on corporate strategy, digital transformation, customer segmentation and M&A.
At Flutter, he has become closely associated with the group's model of combining local market-leading brands with central technology, product and operational capabilities.
His international experience has also required him to manage businesses across very different regulatory environments, an increasingly important skill as taxation and gambling regulation become more significant strategic considerations for global operators.
Fun fact: Taylor's early career also included a six-month spell as Commercial Manager at Manchester United
