Puffer Wilds
Three Wilds can appear in the base game: a blue Super Wild, which can land on any reel, and a purple Extreme Wild and golden Insane Wild, which only appear on reel 5.
Each Puffer substitutes for regular symbols in winning combinations and adds progress to its own collection counter, tracked on screen.
Triggering the bonuses
The Super Wild Bonus can trigger randomly as its counter builds and does not require a specific symbol combination. The Extreme and Insane Wild Bonuses can trigger when at least three Bonus symbols land with the matching Puffer on reel 5. Each Puffer's counter also tracks progress towards its corresponding bonus.
Inside the bonus
The grid expands from 5x3 to 5x5, paying lines increase from 20 to 40. At the start of the Bonus, the Puffer is awarded a set number of Wild placements:
- Super Wild Bonus (Blue Puffer): 5–30
- Extreme Wild Bonus (Purple Puffer): 20–100
- Insane Wild Bonus (Yellow Puffer): 50–125
With each Wild placement, the Puffer either turns a regular symbol into a Wild or upgrades an existing Wild with a Wild Multiplier of up to x5. Multiple multiplier Wilds on one winning line have their values combined. Once the Puffer has placed every symbol from its counter, the bonus round ends and any wins are paid.
Cashpots
Puffer Island has four Cashpot tiers: Mini at 50x the stake, Minor at 100x, Major at 250x, and Grand at 1,000x. Any can be awarded in the base game or a bonus, paying out in full immediately, no collection needed. During a bonus, a Cashpot pays separately without influencing the Wild counter.
Ante Bet and Bonus Buy
Ante Bet doubles the chance of being awarded the bonus game. Bonus Buy skips straight to a chosen bonus: 100x stake for Super, 200x for Extreme, 500x for Insane.
Presentation
Bright, character-led underwater visuals: marine life moves in the background, symbols animate on landing, and the Puffers react when collected and appear beside the grid during their bonuses. One of four base-game soundtracks is picked at random on load, so sessions sound slightly different, adding acoustic variety.
What this means for players
Puffer Island creates a layered, non-linear sense of progress. Three counters run in parallel, while Wilds, bonus triggers and Cashpots give players more than one thing to follow at a time.
