The club is seeking a fixed deal of at least BR70m ($13m) with stricter financial guarantees

Vasco da Gama is moving to secure a new lead sponsor for the 2026 season after Betfair formally ended its partnership with the club on 31 December 2025.

The operator opted not to activate a renewal clause in the contract, which had been in place for approximately a year and a half.

With the Betfair logo already removed from Vasco's official platforms, the club's management has opened negotiations with at least two betting companies: ZeroUm and EnergiaBet.

Both operators have emerged as leading candidates to take over the most valuable commercial space on the club's shirt as domestic competitions approach.

ZeroUm operates under the ZeroUmBet brand and is currently active in the Brazilian market through a court decision, while it works to adapt to regulatory requirements set by the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets, Brazil's betting regulator.

Although the operator does not appear on the Federal Government's positive list yet, it obtained judicial authorization to operate nationwide.

EnergiaBet, meanwhile, is part of the Responsa Gaming group.

The company had previously explored a high-profile sponsorship proposal with Corinthians, which included the creation of a club-branded betting platform, but those talks did not progress.

Vasco is understood to be pursuing more robust contractual terms than those agreed with Betfair.

The club is targeting a minimum fixed fee of BR70m, alongside tougher penalty clauses and financial safeguards to protect against potential payment issues.

With the Carioca Championship about to start and the Brazilian league starting later in January, Vasco may begin the season without a confirmed main sponsor.
