Santos FC has started 2026 without a main sponsor after mutually agreeing to terminate its contract with operator 7K.
The partnership, which began in April 2025, placed the operator's branding across the men's, women's and futsal team kits, as well as stadium assets at Vila Belmiro.
The agreement was valued at between BR50m and BR55m per season, with performance-based bonuses that could have extended the total value significantly through April 2027.
Santos received approximately BR51m in 2025 but will give up an estimated BR54m tied to the second year of the deal.
Despite the early termination, the club stated that some contractual deliverables will still be completed in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Santos' commercial department faces added pressure as other sponsors are also expected not to renew, potentially leaving multiple premium inventory spaces open across the club's kits.
Santos' decision mirrors a broader recalibration taking place across Brazilian football.
Vasco da Gama is currently negotiating with new partners following Betfair's exit as main sponsor, while Esporte Clube Bahia has confirmed it will drop Viva Sorte Bet as its main sponsor in 2026.
In both cases, clubs are seeking more robust financial guarantees and clearer alignment with evolving federal betting regulations.
As Brazil's betting framework enters a more mature phase, football sponsorships are likely to remain significant but increasingly transactional, with shorter contracts, stronger safeguards and fewer headline-grabbing long-term commitments.
