The approval brings the total number of authorized operators to 83, covering 193 registered brands

The Secretariat of Prizes and Betting of the Ministry of Finance (SPA), has authorized BB Gaming to operate in Brazil.

The SPA is Brazil’s gaming regulator and the approval was formalized through Ordinance SPA/MF No. 92/2026.

Signed by Regis Dudena, SPA’s Secretary, the ordinance grants BB Gaming permission to operate under the BRA brand (bra.bet.br), with the license valid until January 2031.

The authorization covers virtual operations across sports betting and online gaming, in line with the regulatory framework established by Law No. 14,790/2023.

BB Gaming is headquartered in São Paulo and has a declared share capital of BR35m ($6.5m).

According to records from Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service, the company’s primary registered activity is the operation of gambling and betting services. Its management structure includes multiple administrators and both domestic and foreign corporate shareholders.

With the approval of BB Gaming, Brazil now has 83 authorized operators holding 86 licenses to offer fixed-odds betting and online gaming.

Of these, 83 operate under standard regulatory approval, while three continue to operate under Federal Court decisions. Together, these licenses cover a total of 193 registered brands.

In a statement, BB Gaming described the license as a milestone for the company, stating that the authorization “reinforces our commitment to legality, transparency, governance and responsible gaming,” and adds to the development of “a more sustainable, safe and regulated market in Brazil.”

The approval comes amid strong demand to enter Brazil’s regulated betting sector as the Ministry of Finance is currently reviewing a queue of applications from 25 different companies seeking authorization.
