Brightstar Lottery has been awarded a long-term contract to provide the Wisconsin Lottery with its fully integrated Omnia lottery solution, continuing a partnership between the two organisations that dates back more than three decades.
The agreement was awarded following a competitive procurement process and includes an eight-year base term, an eight-year extension option and up to four additional one-year extensions.
The contract will be delivered through Brightstar’s subsidiary, Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation.
Under the deal, Brightstar will modernise both retail and digital lottery operations in Wisconsin through the deployment of Omnia, a platform designed to unify sales channels, streamline operations and enhance player engagement.
As part of the rollout, Brightstar will also enhance the Wisconsin Lottery’s mobile application, aiming to improve accessibility and convenience for players and retailers.
In addition, the supplier will deliver a range of new retail hardware, including its Retailer Pro S2 terminal and GameFlex 48 self-service vending machine. These will be supported by existing self-service solutions such as GameTouch 20, GameTouch Draw S2 and the handheld Retailer to Go terminal.
Commenting on the development, Cindy Polzin, Wisconsin Lottery Director, stated: "The Wisconsin Lottery looks forward to working with Brightstar to help us continuously evolve our lottery solutions to maximize player engagement with this new contract.”
Scott Gunn, Brightstar COO of North America Lottery, added: "Working in collaboration with the Wisconsin Lottery, Brightstar has developed a deep understanding of the growth-driving products and solutions the Lottery needs to fuel and support its business goals.
"Since our partnership began in 1988, we have supported the Wisconsin Lottery in generating more than $20bn in revenue, the majority of which has gone back to winners, retailers and Wisconsin homeowners.
“We are excited to deliver our latest technology solutions that will continue to responsibly propel lottery sales and entertain players."
The Wisconsin agreement follows a series of recent announcements from Brightstar, including the deployment of its Sales Wizard automation platform at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation and the extension of its instant ticket contract with the California Lottery.
Brightstar serves nearly 90 lottery customers worldwide and is the primary technology provider to 26 of the 46 lottery jurisdictions in the US
