Colombia’s gaming regulator Coljuegos has invited localized gaming operators to participate in working sessions aimed at updating the reliability resolution governing electronic gaming machines.
The sessions were held at Coljuegos’ headquarters in Bogotá, with remote access available to facilitate participation from operators across different regions of the country.
According to the regulator, the initiative forms part of ongoing technical and regulatory adjustments related to the verification, certification and compliance requirements applicable to electronic gaming machines used in localized gaming operations. The review process focuses on updating reliability criteria that underpin machine testing and ongoing regulatory oversight.
Reliability standards define the technical specifications and testing protocols required for gaming machines operating in Colombia’s regulated market. Any updates to the framework could require operators to adapt equipment, revise compliance procedures or implement new verification systems across their gaming locations.
Coljuegos has engaged in similar technical roundtables throughout 2025 to review inspection and certification systems, including discussions on modernizing machine verification and data reporting processes with industry stakeholders.
These sessions reflect the regulator’s consultative approach to regulatory changes, allowing operators to provide technical input before amendments are finalized and implemented across the localized gaming sector.
Coljuegos’ reliability framework forms part of a broader regulatory system that mandates technical certification of gaming software and random number generators by accredited laboratories, a core component of ensuring compliance and fair play in Colombia’s regulated gaming market.
