Over 140 PTVs distributed nationwide since February 2025

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has turned over new Patient Transport Vehicles to 12 local government units across the country, enhancing emergency medical response and patient mobility in both rural and urban areas.

The beneficiaries include Calumpit in Bulacan, Baras in Rizal, New Bataan in Davao de Oro, Bugallon in Pangasinan, Toboso in Negros Occidental, Sultan Kudarat in Maguindanao del Norte, Burgos, Laoag, Bacarra, Sarrat and Pasuquin in Ilocos Norte, and the City of Navotas.

Each vehicle is fitted with modern emergency equipment, including GPS navigation, stretchers, wheelchairs, medical oxygen and first aid kits. The units are designed to ensure the swift and safe transport of patients to hospitals, particularly in hard-to-reach areas.

Speaking at the turnover ceremony in Pasay City, PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said the PTVs were "lifelines" that could determine the difference between survival and tragedy during medical emergencies.

New Bataan Mayor Atty. Mar Bianca Cualing-Brua praised the donation, noting that the vehicle would greatly aid the municipality's disaster response following recent earthquakes in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Toboso Mayor Richard Jaojoco echoed similar sentiments, saying the unit would benefit residents who require dialysis or urgent transport to distant hospitals.

The ongoing initiative underscores PAGCOR's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its role in supporting local governments' capacity to deliver timely healthcare assistance.
