Kaizen Gaming has launched its online sports betting and casino brand, Betano, in Ghana.
This represents the company’s 20th regulated market entry worldwide and the first new entry of 2026.
A launch event has been held in Ghana’s capital city, Accra, where various Kaizen Gaming executives came together alongside Emmanuel Siisi Quainoo, the Acting Commissioner for the Gaming Commission of Ghana to celebrate the milestone.
The regulator has welcomed Betano’s entry into the country, saying: “Ensuring high standards are met by all operators is crucial in safeguarding player protection and maintaining market integrity. Kaizen Gaming and Betano show clear commitment to these principles, and we look forward to their continued cooperation and focus on upholding safe operations for all.”
Betano already has a presence within Africa through its Betano Nigeria brand, which recently joined forces with 7777 Gaming to expand its portfolio of online casino games.
It is also leading the way in the Brazilian regulated market according to recent user volume data.
George Skarlatos, Director of Business Development at Betano was also present at the launch in Accra – he expressed his long-term vision of the Ghanain market, saying: “Ghana is a market with strong long-term potential, an increasingly tech-oriented population, and a clear commitment to building a structured and transparent regulatory environment.”
The iGaming sector in Ghana became an even more attractive prospect for operators during 2025 when Parliament threw out the Electronic Transfer Levy and repealed the betting and lottery winnings tax.
That tax previously stood at 10%, deterring potential customers.
Skarlatos added: “Through our strong local partnerships, and with responsibility fully embedded across our technology, processes and operations, we are fully aligned with Ghana’s regulatory framework to support a safe, well-functioning and trusted experience for all players from day one.”
Betano was the official partner of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup
