Global match-fixing activity continued to decline in 2025, reflecting increased effectiveness in monitoring, enforcement and education initiatives across international sport, according to Sportradar’s annual Integrity in Action 2025: Global Analysis & Trends report.
The report shows that Sportradar monitored more than one million sporting events across 70 sports worldwide during the year, identifying 1,116 suspicious matches. This represents a 1% decrease compared to 2024, with more than 99.5% of all monitored events recorded as free from suspicion.
The findings suggest a stabilisation in integrity risks following several years of intensified industry-wide cooperation.
Europe again accounted for the highest number of suspicious matches, although the region continued its downward trend, recording 66 fewer cases year-on-year.
South America also saw a notable reduction, with 64 fewer suspicious events detected.
By contrast, Asia, Africa and North and Central America experienced modest increases, highlighting ongoing regional variations in integrity challenges.
Soccer remained the sport most affected by match-fixing, with 618 suspicious matches identified. Basketball followed with 233 cases, while tennis, table tennis and cricket all recorded increases.
The data indicates that manipulation activity is becoming more dispersed across multiple sports rather than concentrated in a single discipline.
A key development highlighted in the report was the growing role of Sportradar’s AI-powered Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS AI). Enhanced machine learning capabilities enabled more sophisticated real-time analysis of betting data, contributing to a 56% year-on-year increase in suspicious matches flagged through AI-led detection.
Enforcement and prevention efforts also expanded in 2025. Sportradar supported 125 sporting sanctions across seven sports and six continents, while its integrity education programmes reached more than 34,000 participants, a 25% increase from the previous year.
The company also provided integrity support for major international events and is preparing for several high-profile tournaments in 2026.
The findings come as Sportradar continues to expand its broader commercial activities, including a recently announced multi-year partnership with NBC Sports Regional Networks to deliver AI-powered data visualisation tools across live NBA broadcasts.
Sportradar has now supported more than 1,000 sporting sanctions worldwide since launching its integrity monitoring programmes
