Super Technologies has announced the acquisition of Maxbet Online’s operations in Romania and Malta.

In those two countries, the Maxbet brand will remain, but the deal means it will be integrated into Super’s own ‘entertainment ecosystem.’

That ecosystem has been recently rearranged – Superbet Group rebranded itself as Super as it shifted focus slightly from its B2C operations, like Superbet, to a broader entertainment and technology company.

Backed financially by Blackstone, the company has been helmed solely by Founder Sacha Dragic in the CEO role since October 2025.

Adam Lamentowicz, who reports to Dragic as CCO of the Central and Eastern Europe region, has said: “Romania is a key pillar of our growth strategy, and this transaction enables us to accelerate both operational and commercial development through a diversified brand portfolio and a well-defined community of customers.”

That pre-existing Maxbet customer base that Lamentowicz refers to will retain uninterrupted access to the platform during the transition process.

According to the announcement, the additional technological capabilities of Super’s platform will be gradually integrated, which should help to ensure minimal downtime.

While the deal between the two companies has been signed, completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the Competition Council.

Manuel Bauer is the CEO of Maxbet Online and has lauded this step, saying: “Romania is one of the most competitive gaming markets in Europe, and reaching this point reflects a period of focused execution, continuous improvement and dedication at Maxbet.”

Romania has always been a central part of Super’s strategy, from the Superbet Group years through the rebrand and restructure, and despite the company’s growing worldwide reputation and the slight angling away from iGaming, this deal reiterates its commitment to that home market and the sector where it made its name.

One week before the announcement of this acquisition, Maxbet Online announced two internal promotions, Stef Stefanescu to Brand Manager and Alexandru Mihai to Risk Agent
