Cliff Baty becomes Interim CFO at Rank Group
Executive brings experience from Manchester United, Sportech and Ladbrokes
Appointment follows recent senior leadership changes at the operator

Rank Group has appointed Cliff Baty as Interim CFO, effective 23 February 2026, with the executive also joining the operator’s Executive Committee.

Baty brings financial leadership experience across listed leisure and gaming businesses, covering areas such as financial planning, investor relations and international operations.

He most recently served as CFO at Manchester United between 2016 and 2024.

Prior to that role, he was CFO at Sportech from 2013 to 2016, following an eight-year period as Financial Director at Ladbrokes.

The appointment comes during a broader period of management transition at the UK operator, which runs the Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casinos brands.

The group has been restructuring its senior leadership after former Chief Executive John O’Reilly stepped down in January, with Richard Harris currently serving as Interim CEO after previously holding the CFO position.

Rank said Baty’s background across public companies and gambling-related businesses would support financial oversight and planning while the group continues operational and strategic adjustments.

The new Interim Finance Chief will oversee financial controls and stakeholder engagement as the operator works toward medium-term performance targets previously outlined by management.

Earlier in February, Rank confirmed that Allwyn UK Operations Director Jenny Blogg will join the operator as CCO from March 2026. She will oversee customer experience across Mecca Bingo and Grosvenor Casinos and report to Interim CEO Richard Harris as the group targets at least £100m ($135.9m) in operating profit over the medium term.
