Employees across Flutter Entertainment’s UK and Irish division have selected two children’s cancer organisations as their 2026 Charities of the Year, following a year in which the business contributed more than £8m ($10.8m) to good causes.
Colleagues voted to support Young Lives vs Cancer in the UK and Cancer Fund for Children in Ireland. Both charities provide emotional, practical and financial assistance to children and young people diagnosed with cancer, as well as to their families.
The selection follows a 12-month fundraising programme in 2025 that generated more than £722,000 for previous beneficiaries, including Pancreatic Cancer UK and the National Maternity Hospital Foundation in Dublin.
Beyond colleague-led initiatives, Flutter’s UK and Irish brands contributed to a broader £8m community total through partnerships and campaigns.
These included Paddy Power’s ongoing collaboration with Prostate Cancer UK and Sky Bet’s ‘Every Minute Matters’ campaign with the British Heart Foundation. Across 2025, these initiatives supported health awareness, research funding and preventative education programmes.
For 2026, fundraising efforts will focus on expanding support services.
Cancer Fund for Children has indicated that proceeds will help extend hospital-based and community services and contribute to the development of a second therapeutic short break centre in Cong, County Mayo. Young Lives vs Cancer will continue providing accommodation and tailored assistance to families during treatment.
Commenting on the company's achievements, Flutter UK & Ireland CEO Kevin Harrington stated: “Our community strategy is rooted in a simple idea: to use the scale of our workforce and brands to support the communities we serve in ways that create real outcomes.
“With the right partnerships, our aim is to raise awareness, fund work that improves lives at a grassroots level, support life‑changing research and motivate individuals to take steps that could not only change but also save lives.
“I’m incredibly proud of what colleagues achieved over the past year — and we’re excited to raise the bar again in 2026.”
The charity announcement is the latest in a series of community-focused developments from Flutter. Earlier this month, the company announced an expansion of its global partnership with blood cancer charity Cure Leukaemia, becoming its first global corporate partner under a three-year agreement expected to generate around $1.3m annually for clinical trials and specialist care.
Flutter also co-hosted the Future of Racing summit with the British Horseracing Authority, bringing together ten technology businesses to present innovations aimed at improving horse welfare, fan engagement and the long-term appeal of British racing.
Through its Cash4Clubs grassroots programme, Flutter UK & Ireland has distributed nearly £8m in funding to local sports clubs since 2008
